Our first night stop (12 May 2012) at our section in Whakatane felt really good and we managed to work everything in Debussy. We were joined for pre-dinner bubbly and nibbles by our tall friends, Owen and Gilda. (Owen could nearly stand up - no probs for the rest of us!) The next morning the sun shone down upon us and we had a relaxing walk through the town and along the river to the Heads. Everyone we met said hello and gave us a smile and we didn't even have our clothes inside out or funny hats on!
